The Choice On Tattoo Removal And The Different Methods

By Ines Brennan

The reasoning behind getting a tattoo tends to vary between different people. Some cover practically their entire bodies with it while others have very little. Others get large ones while some get tiny, barely noticeable ones. But for every satisfied customer, there is someone that regrets making that choice. For those people, a trip to a tattoo removal orange county clinic may be their next move.

Although they are meant to be permanent, tattoos are actually possible to remove. The thing is, even though it can be removed, they were intended to be permanent, meaning there will be some difficulty in the removal process. And what worked for some may not work exactly the same for everybody else.

Removing unwanted ink is nothing new and as a result, people have been coming up with solutions for ages. In the past, these solutions have left considerable damage to the skin in the form of scarring and other side effects. The methods used were also quite painful and barbaric to say the least. Since then, the need for safe tattoo removal has been satisfied by the development of laser treatment.

Laser is a procedure that is capable of removing unwanted body art with minimal to no side effects whatsoever. The procedure works by breaking down the tattoo. After that, the body absorbs the broken down ink in a way that mimics that natural fading created by time or perhaps sun exposure. Because of the high standards and relatively safe practice, it is considered the golden standard as far as removal techniques are concerned.

If that does not appeal to you, then you may consider other options. Chief among them is something called Intense Pulsed Light Therapy or IPLT, which is employed by some spas. It uses high intensity light in a similar fashion to laser, and is said to be much more effective and less painful. On the downside, it is more expensive and for some reason, experts do not recommend its usage.

The benefits of modern techniques are undeniable. Though laser has made everything else practically obsolete, there are even more ways to consider. Cryosurgery for example, is when the affected body part is frozen before removing the tat.

Dermabrasion is when the body is sanded before the tat is removed from it. Parts of the skin are generally removed with this technique. Another one is excision where a surgeon utilizes a scalpel and stitches to remove that tat and close the wound created. Depending on the size, skin grafts may be necessary afterwards.

As you can imagine, the thought of removing supposedly permanent body ink before was quite unnerving and understandably so. Despite being outdated, these practices are still employed to this very day, although not as often or as widespread as before. Still, it is highly recommended that the safest and least painful procedures be used in most cases over these alternative solutions.

At the end of the day, tattoos are something that you can either live with or live without. If you got one and choose to live with it, that is your call. If you decide that maybe it is not what you want, then any tattoo removal orange county clinics may do, in regards to removal.
