Even if you are sick, you should not have your mobility limited. You should still have your freedom, even if it is just simply moving around the house. When you are sick, then you should consider getting yourself a portable oxygen tank. It should allow you to travel around the house or even outside even when you have a condition that does not allow you to.

Of course, just like with using any other medical equipment and tools, there are safety tips that an individual will have to remember. These are the safety tips that will ensure that the said medical equipment is of help to you. It will ensure that the medical equipment does not worsen your condition or put you in any danger.

Using the said gadget with care is imperative. After all, this means that one can keep the self or the family members from getting any injuries or another type of illness because of the mishandling of the said medical gadget. To those who needs to ensure the safety of the house, the self, or the family members, here are safety tips to note.

First, you should keep a written list of how much and what rate of the said gaseous element you have to use whenever you are going around the house or just a bit outside. You should never increase the flow rate of the said medical equipment on your own. If you must do so, then you have to ask the permission of your caregiver.

Another list that you have to keep is of phone numbers. The first entry in this list is the phone number of the company that brings the said medical equipment to the home. You need to call them when you have problems with the said medical equipment. Other numbers are that of the emergency department, rescue team, or hospital.

Do not just rely on one medical equipment when you are sick. Whether you are chronically ill or not, you should prepare a back-up medical equipment in your house. This is the medical equipment that you will be using when there is an emergency. If the original medical equipment suddenly malfunctions, the back-up one will be your savior.

Check on the tubing of the said medical equipment if you are not really sure of the gaseous element that is coming through the tube. You have to make sure that there are no kinks and blockages there, after all. You also have to see if the said tubing is properly connected to the container. Check if the actual medical equipment is turned on too.

Remember that this gaseous element can easily cause fire. This means that you have to keep the number of the fire department in your list of phone numbers too. You should also prepare a working fire extinguisher nearby and learn how to use it. This is the best way to protect yourself, your entire family, and your house.

This medical gadget should also be positioned away from sources of open flames, fire, and heat. Otherwise, it might catch a small spark and start a big fire. Thus, you better keep this away from the stove. Even when you are just smoking, you should never get close to this medical gadget for safety purposes.
